Richard Andrew Farnsworth

Richard A. Farnsworth My Sunshine Richard Rick Andrew Farnsworth, age 39, passed away unexpectedly June 23, 2012. Born December 29, 1972 in San Diego, California, son of Richard Steven and Ruth Anne Horne Farnsworth. Rick graduated from Green River High School in Wyoming in 1991 and attended Ricks College, Western Wyoming Community College and eventually graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice from Weber State University. Served an LDS mission to the Laotian Community in Dallas, Texas, 1992-94. He was passionate about wrestling and competed throughout his life having won second place in state. He married the love of his life, Stephanie Parker, June 16, 2006. He loved being a police officer and was employed by the Salt Lake City Police Department at the time of his death. Survived by his wife, Stephanie; children: Joel and Alexis Farnsworth; stepson, Taylor Lee Parker; parents; sister, Rebecca (Daniel) Cartner; grandmother, Luella Horne; and many other extended family and friends. Preceded in death by grandfathers, Andrew D. Horne and Benjamin Lasale Farnsworth; grandmother, Afton Irene Strong Farnsworth. Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 28, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the Hunter East Stake Center, 5000 West Pavant Avenue (3710 S.). A gathering will be held Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
