Our loving husband, father, and papa Richard Allen Bowen passed away August 14, 2023, with his beloved wife and children by his side. He was born March 22, 1947, in Payson, Utah to Allen (Doc) Bowen and Jean Brown. His father being a career military man meant that Rich and his younger sister Shauna grew up all over the US. They lived many places from Angel Island to Alaska to New Jersey and many other places in between. After attending 13 different schools Rich graduated from Bountiful High in 1965. Shortly after highschool he was drafted into the army. He spent a year training as a radar specialist and then served two tours in Vietnam. Not long after returning home he met and married Marilyn Ann Duncan. Because he moved so much growing up it was very important to Rich that his family had roots, so he and Ann moved to Magna and raised their four kids there. They have lived in their same home for 47 years. Rich's life is the definition of a life well lived. If you knew him, you loved him, and he left you better than you were. He was always good for a dad joke, or a good meme. He loved hunting and fishing with his dad, waterskiing, the Green Bay Packers, car shows, and Camaros. He had strong faith in Jesus Christ and quietly shared that and taught that to his family. His greatest love was his family. His grandkids were the apple of his eye. He loved high fives and knuckles. He loved his children. Chess games with Matt, daddy-daughter dates with the girls, and just anytime with them meant everything. His wife of 53 years, Ann, was his whole heart. He gave her whatever she wanted and did everything to make her happy. Rich was a gentle giant and stronger than anyone we've known. He lived through things that should have killed him many times over and still blew people away with his strength while passing. Richard is survived by his wife Ann, sister Shauna (Mike) Slatter, son Matthew (Tiffany), daughters Marnee (Howard) Miller, Marci (John) Erickson, Margeaux (Eldon) Gomez, and 17 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Doc and Jean.
