Richard Chad Isaksen

August 23, 1982 — September 1, 2013

Chad, 31, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife, his four children and his parents. He fought a valiant fight and was positive, feisty and optimistic to the end. He was the 7th of 8 children born to David and Rhonda Isaksen of Taylorsville. He served an LDS mission to Chicago and loved being a missionary. Upon coming home he decided he wanted to fly helicopters. When Chad decided to do something, there was no turning back. He earned his private pilot s license and then turned to the Army for further training. He flew UH-60 s and loved every minute of it. While in the Army he served two 12-month deployments to Afghanistan. His commander and fellow soldiers loved him and always spoke highly of him. In the time he spent overseas he was able to complete his bachelors degree. Most importantly he started an eternal family with Tara McDougal on December 28, 2005 in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple. He loved his children. He loved playing with them and making them laugh. They were his biggest joy and accomplishment. Preceded in death by his brother, Seth; cousin, Jordan Fairbourn; and his grandparents, Henry and Amy Isaksen, and Merle Fairbourn. He is survived by his wife, Tara; his children, Caleb, Tanner, Kinley and Ainsley; his parents; siblings, Joseph, Ara Mae, Brynne, Scott, Martha and Devin; and his grandmothers, Zelda Isaksen and Fern Fairbourn.
