Richard Coates Lowrie, Jr. Dick Richard Coates Lowrie, Jr., son of Richard Coates Lowrie and Beatrice Maud Thompson, born July 1, 1937 in Pocatello, Idaho. Passed away October 23, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He met and married the love of his life, Beverly Ann Davis, in the Salt Lake Temple in 1975. Even though he was two months premature, he never let his physical condition get in the way of what he wanted to accomplish. He had a brilliant mind and held a master's degree in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Utah. He was an avid model railroader. He enjoyed a lifelong hobby of building model airplanes and trains. He always had a positive attitude and was known as a sweet man, who was always smiling. To know Dick was to love him. He had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ and often said, I know He is supporting me and carrying me. He had a competitive spirit. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughter, Manuela; 5 grandchildren; brother, James (Lesley) Lowrie; Laurel (Doug) Ross; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at the Taylorsville 33rd Ward, 2976 West Winchester Drive (4270 South). Viewings will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church from 12-12:45 p.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
