Richard Lee "Woody" Woodbury, age 70, passed away July 6, 2016. Born March 5, 1946, to Hartley and Arvilla Woodbury in Cedar City, Utah. He grew up in Kanarraville and graduated from Cedar City High School and Utah Technical College. He married Kristine Forsyth December 19, 1964. They had three sons together: Dale Forsyth, Gary Lee, and Richard Jason. They later divorced. Woody married Marianne Adamson March 5, 1983, his thirty-seventh birthday. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He often said, "The best day of my life was the day Marianne became my wife." Woody enjoyed a long career as a technician and manager in the electronics industry. He was hired as a technician by RCA and soon moved up the ranks to sales manager and, eventually, branch manager of the largest RCA branch in Utah. When RCA was acquired by General Electric, he served that company for another 17 years, attaining the position of regional manager. Aside from being known for his ability to fix virtually anything, Woody loved his '57 Chevy Coupe, fishing, memories of Kanarraville, and, above all, his family. He was immensely proud of his 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and loved nothing more than spending time with his sons. Some of their favorite times were spent watching sporting events, fishing, and hunting. Woody lived a full life and had a great love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Woody is survived by his wife, Marianne; sons, Gary (Marnie), and Jason (Buffy); daughters, Michelle (Andy) Pierce, and Amy Pompa; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carol and Lorraine. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dale; and siblings, Irene, Clair, Clayton, and Helen. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016, at the South Jordan LDS 4th Ward, 2550 West 9800 South. A family and friends gathering will be from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment - 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, Kanarraville Cemetery.
