Richard Ninow

July 15, 1932 — May 10, 2017

Richard Ninow, born July 15, 1932 to Albert Carl & Stephina Johanna Els Ninow, in Johannesburg, South Africa. He passed away peacefully in the care of Rocky Mountain Care Center, Hunter Hollow. At the age of 22, he boarded a ship for his journey from South Africa to California. He stopped in Alberta Canada December of 1954. He met and married Shirley Gibb, April 28, 1955 in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They left in October of 1966 and moved to Taylorsville, Utah. In 1966, he started working for Utah Technical College as an Architectural Drafting Instructor for 25 years. From March 16, 1981 through July 9, 1999, he worked for Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, which he loved doing. Preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Ted. Survived by wife Shirley; daughter Nita D. (Randy) Mears; sons Richard D. (KaLynn) and Stephen D.; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother Burt; sister Vonnie. Many thanks to Canyon Hospice and especially Emily as well as Rocky Mountain Care Center and especially Elke for the care given to our loved one who will be missed dearly.
