Richard William Davis

January 18, 1948 — July 20, 2012

Richard WIlliam Davis died on July 20, 2012 from adenocarcinoma. Richard was born January 18, 1948 in Burley, ID to Seymour Lawren Davis & Virginia Peterson Davis. He married the love of his life, Beverly, in the Salt Lake Temple on August 12, 1971. Richard served an LDS mission in Samoa. After his mission, he always had an eternal connection to the people and culture. Family prayer always started with Fai lotu. He worked hard as a fireman, construction worker, developer and business owner. He loved the challenge of solving problems and working the land. He became a collector of farms, animals and tractors. He was passionate about anything old and unique. Richard was a devoted father who dedicated his life to instill in his children the importance of hard work and serving others. He was a member of the LDS church and a Boy Scout leader for many years. As a Boy Scout leader, he influenced a generation of young men through his own unique style. Richard was a force of nature. He would want things for others more than his self. He was a man of principle and hard work. He always strived to provide for and protect those he loved. He was stubborn in that regard and rock solid in his ways. He does not have an equal. He is survived by his wife Beverly, his children: Melissa, Anthony (Jessica), Suzy (Trevor) Pierson, Sarah (Michael) McDougal, Cindy and Michael Sparky, and by his grandchildren: Jayden and Baron. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS church house, 4295 N. Canyon Road, Provo.
