Robert Vincent Bennett

Our beloved father and grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 29, 2019.  Robert was born on September 1, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN to Ralph and Mary Bennett.  He grew up in Los Angeles, CA and served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962. After the Air Force, he moved to Salt Lake City, UT and married Barbara Ann Lueders. They were later divorced. Robert also spent time living in Coos Bay, Oregon and then moved back to Salt Lake City where he lived at Friendship Manor for many years.

Robert loved karaoke.  He would sing anywhere and anytime he could, especially at the VA Medical Center. He enjoyed drawing airplanes from his days in the Air Force.  He also loved riding around town in his Jazzy chair, especially going to his favorite place, Walmart.  He enjoyed telling stories and would always say “but anyways”.  He loved making others laugh. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary.  He is survived by his children Lisa Allen, Andrea (Brady) Monson, Rob (Holli) Bennett, Christine (Cameron) Dickson, 11 grandchildren (Katie, Jared, Samantha, Jacob, Jocelyn, Ashley, Hailey, Brooklin, Katelyn, Allie, Nathan) and sister Judy Powell. He will be incredibly missed. 

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 15, 2019, 11:00 am at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 South, Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, UT.
