Bob Hilton passed away on August 13, 2015 from acute myeloid leukemia. He was born on May 1, 1937 in Salt Lake City to Enid Mae Mellonie and Charles A. Hilton. He attended South High School and received his GED in 1961 from the United States Armed Forces Institute. He married the love of his life, Venna Huggins, on January 29, 1957. He served in the Army from 1961 to 1963 at Fort Benning, Georgia. Bob worked for a time with his father as a cook at Chick's Trolley in Salt Lake City and he worked at Ajax Press until 1975. Bob could repair any washer and dryer ever made and he worked at Sears Roebuck and Co. as an appliance repairman in Salt Lake from 1976 until he retired in 1999. Bob enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing. In his later years he enjoyed eating at The Amber and The Olympian restaurants. The family would like to thank the nurses at the BMT Clinic at LDS Hospital who cared for him for the last seven months with a special thank you to Tony. If he didn't get to see Tony on treatment day he was always disappointed. We are grateful for his brother, Dan Forster, for his love and support and for his help getting dad to chemotherapy and blood transfusion treatments. We are also grateful to his brother-in-law, Rex Huggins, for being with him every evening so that he could continue to be independent in his own home. Bob was especially proud of his granddaughters and he will miss seeing them continue to grow into the amazing women they are all destined to become. Bob is survived by his daughter Lorie (John) Dudley, his son, Brett Hilton, his brothers Dan Forster, Barry (Cory) Hilton, Allen (Brenda) Hilton; his sister Charlene (Brett) Church; his mother, Marion Hilton, and his granddaughters: Amelia, Ashleigh, Sarah, Abigail, Olivia, and Jersey as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years in 2014, his parents, his step-father Lloyd Forster, his brother Clarence Kelly, his sister Mary Ann Butters, and his daughters, Roberta in 1959 and Cindy in 2010. Private family graveside services to be held Sunday, August 23, 2015. In lieu of flowers, Bob requested donations to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation for cancer research.
