Robert Lamar Callaway, 72, passed away at home on February 5, 2023, in Taylorsville, UT. He experienced Parkinson's Disease for 20 years and was diagnosed two years ago with Myelodysplastic Syndrome which turned into Leukemia the last few months of his life.
Robert Lamar Callaway was born on April 25, 1950 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Lamar Golden Callaway and Frances Maurine Cooke.
Robert graduated from South High School in 1968 and went on to earn an Associate Degree in Accounting from Stevens-Henager Business College. He started his career as an accountant and later worked for 29 years at Western River Expeditions.
Robert married Susan Annette Cook on September 18, 1971 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 25, 1978. Robert and Susan were blessed with one daughter, April Dee Callaway of Taylorsville.
Robert was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained a faithful member. He served as Stake Financial Clerk for many years. He was High Priest Group Leader in his ward as well as Ward Librarian with his wife. Their love of the Taylorsville 23rd Ward kept them in their first home!
Robert was well known for his love of Corvettes!
Robert is survived by his wife Susan and daughter April of Taylorsville.
Robert is preceded in death by parents, sister Marrianne Bowman, and brother Donald Raymond Callaway.
