October 28, 1965 — August 28, 2017

Robert Faulkner "Rob" Woody passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, on August 28, 2017, at his home in Taylorsville, Utah. Rob was born on October 28, 1965 to James McRobert "Jim" Woody and Margaret Faulkner Woody, in an Army hospital at Dugway Proving Ground, Dugway, Utah. Rob grew up in the small town of Rush Valley, Utah and graduated with honors from Tooele High School. He attended the University of Utah and graduated with dual Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and Sociology. He began his career with the U.S. Government at Dugway Proving Ground and later became a valued employee for the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Rob had an impeccable work ethic and progressively advanced in his career of nearly thirty years of federal service. Rob took great pride in his work and made significant contributions to improving health care for veterans. Rob was a big man with an even bigger heart, and a warm, kind, gentle, and generous spirit. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family, friends, or even strangers in need. His intellect, wit, charm, knowledge, and wisdom were matched only by his loving, giving, nurturing, and selfless nature. Rob will be missed deeply by all those that knew him. His passing leaves a hole in our hearts and a void in our lives that can never be repaired or refilled. He is survived by his loving mother, Margaret; his beloved sister and close, lifelong friend, Dona; his cherished best friend and travelling companion for over 25 years, Todd Bjorklund; very special friends/extended family, Kevin and Jane Dostie; and his very dear aunt, Jackie Bryant. "Uncle Bobby" will be missed by several nieces and nephews: Jessica, Chris, Alex, and Stephanie; special nephew, Andrew "Drew"; and his adored niece, Madison "Maddy", whom he loved as though she were his own daughter. He was grateful for the support and guidance of his friend Walter. He had countless friends, co-workers, and associates whose lives he touched and greatly impacted. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim; his brother, Mark; grandparents; and many uncles, aunts and dear cousins. In accordance with Rob's wishes, there will be no services.
