Robert Glen Kirkman Jr.

Magna Robert Glen Kirkman Jr. passed away peacefully at his home, on March 27, 2017, after a short fight with cancer. He was born on December 19, 1935 to Robert Glen and Pearl Irene Butler Kirkman. In 1955 he married his sweetheart, Mary Kathryn Wright and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He was the proud father of Jan Ward, John (deceased), Royal J. (Robyn), Jody (deceased) and Jo (David) Kochanowski. He had 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was a stellar example to them all and others of hard work, integrity, compassion and support. He was always anxious for springtime to start his garden and plan outdoor trips. But he also looked forward to the fall to watch football. He worked at Kennecott for 32 years. While there he served as union president. After retiring from Kennecott, he worked as a bus driver for Granite School District, where he enjoyed helping with disabled children. He is survived by his wife; and children; sisters Betty (Clair) Williams, Pauline, Ken (deceased) Cameron, JoAnn (Dallas) Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; and brother Blaine. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2017, 1:00 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home 4330 S.
