Robert G. Porter Bob Robert Gene Porter, 86, left this world while at home with his family by his side. Born April 10, 1926 to Wilda and Allen Porter of Shawnee, Ohio. Entered the Army Aircorp in Fort Hayes at the age of 18. Serving two years he received the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal during WWII. He returned to be a teacher in Ohio. Expanding his education and talents, he moved to California to be a TV sitcom writer. There he met his first wife and one love, Sam and married on their Valentines Day of May , 1955. They started a family and moved to Utah for college and an engineering position at Sperry/Univac. Next he moved his young family to Germany and enjoyed visiting many European countries, returned to Utah and entered into his own business managing a local advertising agency. He became an active political person and ran for the Senate in 1974/75. Worked until retirement for First Security Bank making many friends and touching many lives. A quiet man of faith he enjoyed worshiping with his Christian family at The Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his son, Robert; daughters, Kathy (Steve) Doty, Jeannine (Chuck) Kondor; grandchildren, Brittny Doty (Anthony Valdez); Heather Doty and Landon Doty; Dalton, Dakota, Amyllia and Wyatt Kondor. Preceded in death by wife, Florence; daughter, Edith; granddaughter, Jenny. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South.
