Bob was a man of love, charity and integrity. He was born January 8, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clarence "Chick" and Sylvia Evans. He attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High. He was a veteran of WWII. Worked 36 years for Mt. Bell Telephone Co. and was retired for 37 years! He married his beloved Norma Jane Hardy June 17, 1946 and passed away by her side July 7, 2015. Their love is eternal and a stellar example to us all. Fish feared Dad! He spent thousands of days fishing and camping with friends and family. Dad taught us how to love and work, laugh, sing and fish. His was a life well-lived and was a friend to all, and was loved by all. Survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Norma; daughters: Patricia Thompson and Janet (Jim) Witherspoon; sons: Leonard (Holli) Evans and David (Jamie) Evans; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and all who held a special place in his gentle heart. Preceded in death by parents; brothers: Richard (Doris) Evans, and Frank (Norma) Evans; sisters: Virginia Frailey, Blanche (Dean) Jenkins and Mickey (Don) McKelvie; and Buddy the cat. The family would like to express their thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at IHC Hospice and Carrington Court Care Center where Mom and Dad spent their last six weeks together. A visitation will be held Friday, July 10, 2015, 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
