Robert Charles Reid

October 20, 1938 — October 25, 2021

Robert Charles Reid grew up in Salt Lake County.  He was one of 12 children to James Oliver Reid and Anna Alberta Jauger Reid.

He was raised on a pig farm in the 1940’s. He always enjoyed corvettes and classic cars. He got a job at age 16 at Kennecott Copper Mine. Robert met Janice L. Thomas not long after and they were married in 1958 had six children. They enjoyed taking the children to campouts and to parades. They later had 10 grandchildren and helped raise some of them. They now have 12 great-grandchildren.

Robert and Janice loved square dancing and round dancing and traveled a lot to perform with their dance club. They also were in other clubs for craft and arts crafting with rocks hounds.

He owned more than one corvette and was in a Corvette club. He sold them and bought other ones to take care of his family. 

He worked for Kennecott Copper Mine for 40 years, and Salt Lake County for 23 years.

Robert passed away on October 25, 2021, at home with his children Robin and Wally by his side. His other children are Terry (Jeff), Mickie (Casey), Cindy (Robert), and Bobbi. He is survived by siblings, Claudia, Eileen, Linda, Janet, Sherry, and Dorothy.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and siblings Maxine, Betty, Wally, Glen, and Connie.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville City Cemetery, 4575 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
