September 10, 1943 - January 22, 2025

Robert Jacob Shearer passed away on January 22, 2025 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bob was born on September 10, 1943 to Everett Stanley Shearer and Mary Elizabeth Spong in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Bob grew up in Wormleysburg, Pennsylvannia. The family moved to Lansing, Illinois in 1961 when his dad was transferred for work. Bob was 18 and went to work for the neighbor's Golf Service Station. While working at the gas station, he decided he wanted to become a transport operator. He started working for Consolidated Freightways in Chicago in March of 1967. He later transferred to Salt Lake City, Utah in January of 1971. In July of 2000 Bob achieved Three Million Miles of safe driving.

Bob met his wife, Donna Thompson Rademacher at work. Donna was the line-haul secretary. She asked Bob how many tickets he needed for his Awards Banquet for the One Million Miles of Safe Driving. Bob said he needed one, but her boss said he needed two because he was going to take Donna to the banquet. Donna says, the rest was history. Bob and Donna were married in Salt Lake City on July 28, 1973.

Bob and Donna would go to their cabin often in Manorlands, Uintah County. They'd go snowmobiling up there. After Bob and Donna retired they would travel to St George, Lake Havasu, Arizona and back to visit Bob's parents in Pennsylvania and family in Chicago. They loved to work outdoors both at home and at the cabin in the summer. They have a beautiful yard. He enjoyed helping his step-son, Terry Rademacher with his home projects. Bob also helped pour molds for Donna's ceramic studio in their home.

On April 13, 2024 Bob was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed attending church with Donna even before he was baptized. He loved teasing the members of the ward.

Bob is survived by his wife, Donna; step-son, Terry Rademacher; siblings, Larry Shearer (Joyce) of Eddy, Texas, Mark Shearer (Judy) of Portage, Indiana, Fred Shearer of Sixes, Oregon and Randy Shearer of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
