Robert Smith

Robert Hal "Bubba" Smith, 80, passed away on July 25, 2023, in Kearns, Utah.

Robert was born on December 28,1942, in Woodruff, South Carolina, to Annie Maude Smith and John Hal Smith. Bob grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and Hollywood, Florida, where he excelled in football and baseball.

Robert went on to serve our country in Vietnam for 3 tours. He was a proud member of the 801 Carpenters Union for over 50 years including teaching at the trade school.

In 1968, Robert Hal Smith married Sherry Lee Smith.

Robert devoted his life to being a loving Father, Grandparent, Great-Grandparent and friend.

In 1976 Robert fell in love with Utah and moved there. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and motorcycles, but most of all he loved cheering for the Utah Utes for 46 years.

Robert Hal Smith is preceded in death by his parents Annie and Hal, his wife Sherry Lee and son Michael. Robert is survived by children Mark (Jay), Lori (Darren), Travis, grandchildren Chantel, Chelsea, Dakota (Kayla), great-grandchildren, and cousin Diane Heinje.

The funeral/memorial service for Robert Hal Smith will be held on August 9, 2023, 11 a.m., Camp Williams Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects.
