Roberto Lopez Jr.

Roberto Raul Lopez Jr - son, father, grandfather, friend - passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 17, 2024.

Robert loved hunting, camping, and fishing with his family. He installed carpet and flooring for over 30 years. He was also certified and worked in HVAC. Robert was not afraid to get his hands dirty and do hard work. He was always willing to help anyone fix anything in exchange for a 6-pack of Bud. His work ethic was exceptional, he never missed a day of work. His most prominent characteristic was honesty. Even if the truth was painful, he would let you know the whole truth. No matter how "financially embarrassed" (his words) he was, he would give his last dime to help family or friends in need. He made time to show up for people.

Robert is survived by his mother Mae Lopez, brother Marcos Lopez Sr. (Lisa), sister Kristen Lopez (Johnny), son Roberto Raul Lopez III (Naishe), son Francisco Lopez, grandchildren Lastara Stewart, Gianna Carter, Roberto Lopez IV, Ludin Lopez, Elway Lopez, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Robert is preceded in death by his father Roberto Lopez Sr., Aunt and Uncle Carola and Hyme Vasquez, brother-in-law Johnny Cordova, Aunt Janis Maestas, and dear cousins Rev. Bernardo Vasquez and Aaron Maestas.

A celebration of life will be held at the Utah State Fairgrounds, Zion Building at 11 AM on Thursday May 30, 2024.

The family would like to thank Johnny and the staff at the Utah State Fairgrounds, where Robert worked doing maintenance, for providing accommodations for the celebration of life.
