Rodney Bernard Beckstrom 1954 ~ 2012 Rodney Bernard Beckstrom, 58, died July 12, 2012 peacefully in his sleep after a 52 year battle with Diabetes. Rod was born January 8, 1954 in Salt Lake City to Bernard and Leah Beckstrom. He was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at age 6. Rod married his eternal companion Janet Dickson 32 years ago, June 12, 1980, in the Salt Lake Temple. Rod served over 30 years in the Boy Scouts of America and took pride in assisting more than 20 boys receive their Eagle Scout Rank. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. His most pride came in his 2 daughters, Sarah and Stephanie. Survived by his wife, Jan; daughters: Sarah (Mike) North; Stephanie Beckstrom; granddaughter: Cheyenne North; brothers and sister: Blake Beckstrom; Julie (Mark) Allred; Jeff Beckstrom; sisters-in-laws: Mary Vaughn and Nancy Willes and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and his wife s parents William Kay & Darlene Dickson and sister-in-law Gae. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. July 18, 2012 at the Jordan Oaks Stake Center, 8117 So. Leslie Drive (3905 W.) Viewing will be held 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home and Wednesday 10-10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to the funeral services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
