Roelina Akkerman Axford

Roelina Ann Axford, 64, of West Valley City, Utah joined her parents and daughter in heaven on Tuesday, February 14,2017 passing peacefully at home while she slept. She was born on May 12,1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Wiecher and Jantje Akkerman. She loved and enjoyed doing crafts, was always willing to help her neighbors and thoroughly cherished celebrating holidays with family. More times than not there was a food fight with her as the instigator. Survived by her husband Dannie E. Axford; sister Jean Speredon (Tom); brothers: Vic Akkerman and John Akkerman (Ruth); daughters: Sherrie Slater and Spring Hirtzel (Michael); grandchildren: Sheila, Shelby, Joseph, Michael, Emily and Paige; and great-grandchild Taylor. Ann had a special place in her heart and appreciated Tiffany Allen (Paytn and Blayze) for the care taking, compassion, love and support she provided to her. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where visitations will be held Sunday, Feb. 19th, 6-8:00 p.m., and again prior to services on Monday from 9-9:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
