Jed Jensen

February 12, 1960 — December 29, 2024

February 12, 1960 - December 29, 2024

Roger Jed Jensen, better known as Jed, passed away on December 29, 2024, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Jed was born on February 12, 1960, to Roger and Betty Jensen, the first of their eight kids. He grew up surrounded by love, chaos, and a whole lot of sibling antics with Julie Wanlass (Steve), Jay Jensen, Jamey Jensen, Janna Markland (Harry), Jeremy Jensen (Amanda), and Jeana Proctor (Spencer). He was preceded in death by his sister, Janene Jansson, who is surely thrilled to see he finally got a decent haircut.

Family was everything to Jed. He spent over three decades married to his best friend, Sheri Jensen. Together they raised their daughter, Shelby Jensen Mitchell, who he was endlessly proud of. He loved Shelby's husband, Jarred, like his own son and was always their biggest cheerleader. Jed also cherished his in-laws, Ronette Knight (Jeremy) and Boyd Nelson, and had a special bond with his nieces and nephews, who brought so much joy to his life.

Jed was a hard worker and a man of many talents. He worked as a skilled electrician by day and a Zamboni driver at Millcreek Commons by night, where he became a familiar, friendly face to all. But his true passion was being part of his daughter's Parafencing journey. Jed poured his heart into the Utah Fencing Foundation, where he created "Jedi Chairs" to help wheelchair fencing athletes train and compete at their best.

Jed was deeply involved in the W.O.W. Car Community. He was quick to build friendships with many fellow car enthusiasts, and embrace the W.O.W. motto, "Spreading Smiles for Miles". He loved cruising and showing off his father-in-law, Jack Nelson's 1956 Ford one-ton truck. They are cruising the clouds together now.

Jed had a knack for making everyone feel like family. Their home was always open, the BBQ was always ready, and their back patio was his favorite spot to relax, watch birds, squirrels, and enjoy life with their dogs. Whether he was sharing a laugh, helping someone in need, or striking up a conversation with a stranger who quickly became a friend, Jed's warmth and kindness were unforgettable.
