Rhonda Rae John Smith
August 2, 1947~ February 18, 2025
Rhonda was born August 2, 1947, in Tremonton, Utah to James Floyd John and Retha Galliher John. She grew up in Perry, Utah and graduated from Box Elder High School.
Rhonda married Darwin H. Smith, and they were sealed in the Logan, Utah Temple. Darwin passed away in 2021. They had one son, Clinton John Smith who passed away in 2003.
Rhonda attended Beauty school and worked as a hair dresser for several years. She loved learning and attended the University of Utah where she graduated and earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. She was also creative and in her earlier years she liked to draw and paint and did many craft projects. She had a love for music and taught herself to play the piano, took lessons and learned to play the harp. Her harp was her prized possession. She could also compose some of her own music.
Cooking gourmet foods and trying new recipes was another of her many interests. She had many good times cooking Korean dishes with her nephew, Stephen. Writing was another of her passions and she wrote beautiful poems and letters and also wrote a book.
Rhonda is survived by her sisters Earlene (Lealand) Davidson, Shandra (Bill) Walker, and Danielle (Clare) Lythgoe. Preceded in death by parents, spouse, and son.
A special thanks go to her Taylorsville 9th ward Bishop and ward family for all the services they rendered, and all the meals provided. We are also grateful to Twin Oaks Assisted Living and Canyon Hospice for their kind care of her.
Thank you also to her very special friends whom she made over the years.
Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
