Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Rose Marie Meeks Rowley, age 77, passed away November 7, 2013 after battling cancer. Born September 8, 1936 in St. George, Utah to Marie Cox Meeks and Athe Meeks. Graduated from St. George High School. Married Vance Wilbert Rowley in the Salt Lake Temple. Rose Marie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a woman of great faith, with a particular passion for genealogy and family history. She was the definition of unconditional love with a calm, cheerful demeanor that belied her tremendous inner strength and iron will. She provided endless love and support for her family, friends and even strangers who became friends, from cheering people up via a quick phone call, to faithfully caring for her aging parents for years upon years. Her love for, and consideration of, others was boundless. She had a strong work ethic and started working as a soda jerk at Bryce Canyon as a teen. Over the years, she worked for Kennecott, IML, and Yellow Freight, before retiring from the Teamsters in 2001. Rose Marie also lived in Provo, UT, Logan, UT, Chicago, IL, and West Valley City, UT. She is survived by her children, Evan Vance Rowley and Vicky Marie Rowley, her brother, Larry Meeks, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank all the wonderful members of the Taylorsville 38th Ward Ward for the friendship and support they provided. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the American Cancer Society.
