Rossine Jane Woodruff Jones (Rose) was reunited with her lifelong sweetheart Asael Smith Jones on his birthday, January 16, 2016. She died peacefully at her home in West Jordan, Utah. She was 86 years old. Rose was born Dec. 28, 1929 to Chloie Cook and George Thompson Woodruff in Bluebell, Utah and was the 6th of 13 children. She was married on July 11, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 12, 1947. She always shared her genuine love for her six children, living their childhood years on a small farm on 4700 South in Taylorsville. Grandma Rosie and Grandpa Asael traveled all over the US, spending lots of winters where it was warm. She lived a very active, positive life, never letting her health problems hold her back. We all learned from Grandma Rosie that no matter how tough life is, you can always choose to be happy and pleasant. Despite her struggles, whenever asked how she was doing she would always say that she was "FANTASTIC". Rose is survived by her daughters, Kathy Dority (Judd), Sandy Garrett (Merritt), Lynne Jones; her sons, Ken (Joyce), Randy (Susanne) and Russ (Kathy); 22 grandsons; 24 granddaughters; 53 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Fisher; brothers, Sherron Woodruff (Janet) and Darwin Woodruff (Marty). She was preceded in death by her husband; a son who died in infancy; a grandson; 4 brothers and 6 sisters. She was very proud of her posterity and was a "Great" grandma even before she was a great-grandma. We sincerely appreciate the loving compassion of the Brighton Hospice caregivers. A celebration of Rosie's life will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016, 1:00 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where viewings will be held Friday, 6-8:00 p.m., and prior to services Saturday, 12-12:45 p.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
