Ruby Kern

September 26, 1933 — May 28, 2024

Ruby Marie Rigby Kern returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on May 28, 2024.

Ruby was born Sept 26,1933 in Sublett, Idaho to Bela S. and Josephine Rentmeister Rigby. She has two older sisters, Doris Preston (deceased) and Edna Heinze. A younger brother John Rigby (deceased) and a younger sister Linda Strom.

Ruby spent the majority of her growing up years in Idaho. After graduating from Burley High School, she moved to Utah where she worked for the FBI. She was introduced to Harold William Kern in 1956 and later married him for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on January 3, 1957.

Harold and Ruby lived in Germany while Harold was in the US Air Force. They traveled all over Europe. While in Germany their daughters, Paula and Colleen were born. After Harold's time in the Air Force was finished, they moved back to Utah where daughters Kathy and Susan and sons Russell and Douglas were born.

Ruby loved the sunshine and being outside. She loved to garden and grow all kinds of flowers and plants. She had a beautiful soprano voice and loved to sing and play the piano.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in many positions.

Ruby was a light to her family and to those she came in contact with. Everyone fell in love with her after meeting her. She made all feel loved and welcomed and special. She was a warm, loving, and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She blessed all our lives, and she will be long remembered and sorely missed.
