Russell Eldon Dutt

Russell E Dutt, passed away peacefully in his home on December 30, 2016. Born on March 9, 1927 in Hansen, Idaho, he worked and played hard as a young man and later served his country bravely overseas in the Armed Forces and later here at home in several capacities and ranks. On March 1, 1953, he married the love of his life, Betsy Jensen and her 3 daughters. Their family grew, later adding 3 more children. Russ was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. This was easily identifiable by the wall filled with photos of his family and especially enjoyed spending time with them, reminiscing of earlier days and offering council on current day issues. He enjoyed the company of Charles Spain. The two spent hours watching old movies, playing games and were both avid Utah Jazz fans. Russ knew the meaning of hard work, with over 47 years in the Telecommunications industry, starting with Mountain Bell and ending by owning his own successful wiring business. His trademark has always been his sense of humor and his ability to talk with all people of all walks of life. He and Betsy enjoyed many trips with groups of friends and would build vacations around experiences around these friendships. His life served a lesson in service, not only family but to those he came in contact with. He served callings in the LDS church that included; Bishop, Stake Presidency, Mission Presidency. His service was always a priority and loved those he served. Russ is survived by children Sharon (Steve Snarr), Cheryl (Larry Hansen), Jane (Ron Casper), Julie (Al Lozano), John (Stacey), and Kevin (Dana). Russ is preceded in death by his wife Betsy and daughter Jane and enjoying their company now Viewing will be Tuesday on January 3rd from 6-8 pm at McDougal Funeral home, 4330 South Redwood Road. An additional viewing will be held prior to the services the morning of the 4th starting at 10:30AM to 11:45AM with funeral services at 12:00PM, held at the Kearns 5th Ward building, 4260 West 5215 South, Kearns, UT. Interment at Redwood Memorial Estates.
