Ruth Evelyn Morris

February 5, 1928 — June 26, 2014

Our loving mother, sister grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Ruth Evelyn Morris passed away June 26, 2014. She was born February 5, 1928 to Frank and Annie Atkin on a small farm in Tooele, Utah. Ruth married the love of her life, Donald Morris on July 7, 1947. They were later sealed for Eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on August 29, 1975. Ruth was an active member of the LDS church and loved serving in her many callings over the years. She was a loving and devoted mother and loved to spend time with her family. She was small in stature, but that never stopped her from hugging the air out of those she loved! She loved to sew, knit and made all of us the softest blankets. She had a love for gardening; her tomatoes were always the sweetest and her strawberry jam was the hot commodity amongst family and friends. Ruth is survived by her five daughters and one son: Ginny (Ray) Rubio, Markie (Roger) Fair, Chris Reiser, Donna (Paul) Holden, Mary (Ron) Moss and Steve Morris; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; sister Edith Mayhue. Preceded in death by parents, husband Donald and several siblings. We would like to thank the staff at Sunrise Hospice and Hazen Care Center for their loving kindness and support of our mother. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 1st, 2014 10:00 a.m. at the Peachwood-Lancer Ward, 3963 South Peachwood Drive, West Valley. Viewings will be held Monday June 30, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and at the church 9:00-9:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Flowers or donations to the Alzheimer's Association at www.ALZ.com would be appreciated. Place of Birth:Toole, Utah
