Ruth Ashworth Bonner 1929 - 2011 Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother returned to the arms of her husband on December 1, 2011. Ruth Lahree Ashworth was born on October 1, 1929 in Cedar City, Utah to Myrtle and Ezra Ashworth. She was the youngest of their seven children. She met Ralph Edgar Bonner in Beaver, Utah and married him June 3, 1946. Their lives were full of joy and love. Together they raised 3 children. Ruth was an incredible artist, filling her home (and the homes of her family and friends) with her paintings. She was a member of the Intermountain Society of Artists for many years and enjoyed travelling all over the West with them, making many lifelong friends. She was devoted to her family and always urged us to strive towards doing our best, no matter the situation or outcome. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her son Steven R. Bonner, and her siblings. She is survived by her children, Bonnie Bowman (Robert Pyper), Sandra Calder, and J Nette Bonner; her grandchildren, Shane Strasburg, Kim Bowman; Azure, Lucas, Matthew and Shurrie Calder; Felicia, Spencer (Amy)Bonner, Marci (Art) Higgins and Rhyse Bonner; and her 4 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Monday, December 5, 6 - 8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home. 4330 South Redwood Road, West Valley City. A graveside service and internment will be held at a later date at the Hurricane Cemetery, Hurricane, Utah. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the hospice nurses of Curo Health Services for the aid and love they gave Ruth during her final days.
