On February 17, 2018, our hero, compass, care giver, advocate, and angel - whose strength, kindness, and humble heart upheld all those he lovedwas taken home to rest in God's embrace. Samuel Marvin Jacobson was called home to a loving Heavenly Father after a short, but courageous, fight against pancreatitis at the age of 43. He was a loving and supportive husband to his wife, Heidi Brown Jacobson, as well as a devoted father to three beautiful daughters, Karlee, Kaitlyn, Kortney, and a hero to one handsome son, Carter. Sam was born July 26, 1974 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lynn D. Jacobson Jr. and Margo Larson Jacobson. The early years of his childhood were spent in Sandy, Utah, while the latter were spent in Alpine where Sam graduated from American Fork High School in 1992. Sam served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New York, New York South mission; after which he attended and graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree. Sam married the love of his life, Heidi Brown, on February 20, 1998 in the Salt Lake City Temple. There they were sealed for time and all eternity. Together they created a beautiful family and enjoyed camping, going to Disneyland, attending University of Utah games, but mostly spending time with one another. Although Sam rarely did things for himself, he loved hanging out with his brother watching the seasons change through whatever sport was current: football, baseball, basketball, and golf. He enjoyed a good Jazz game, but his biggest hobby was following his UTES! Although Sam will be profoundly missed, we know he will be preparing a place for his family to be together forever. Sam is survived by his wife, Heidi; his four children, Karlee (18), Kaitlyn (15), Kortney (13), Carter (9); his mom, Margo Jacobson; sister Jennifer Jacobson; brother Daniel (Cassie) Jacobson; in-laws Jeff and Cheryl Brown; brother-in- law James (Andrea) Brown; grandfather James Larson; grandmother Margie Brown; four nephews; two nieces; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Sam was preceded in death by his father Lynn D. Jacobson Jr.; grandparents Lynn D. and Jone Jacobson, Beth Larson, Fred and Myrna Jensen, and T. Rodnie Brown. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at West Jordan Park Stake, 7411 South 4800 West, where viewings will be held Thursday, Feb. 22nd, 6-8:00 p.m. and prior to services on Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Herriman Cemetery.
