Scott Ballard Smith Pa Together Again Scott died peacefully July 30, 2012 at the Atria Care Center in Sandy, Utah of causes due to old age. Born January 25, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Warden and Alta Ballard Smith, but grew up in Cowley, Wyoming. Scott married Venita Workman in the Salt Lake Temple. His early years found him employed at Ohio Oil Company. He fought during WWII and the Korean War in the US Army. Most vacations were lovingly spent fishing in Yellowstone National Park. Later, with his wife and two sons, Jim and Mike, he moved to Utah where he started KD Craft and Novelty in Granger, Utah where it was a landmark for over 40 years. He was a hard worker, first to arrive and last to turn out the lights. Scott held many church assignments including Bishop and temple worker. He loved to snowmobile and 4-wheel in the Uintas at his family cabin. He was never idle, always some project to complete. Scott s motto was work hard and play hard . He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Venita. He leaves behind sons Michael (Yvonne) and James (Claudia); 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and sister Fay Smith Adams. Thanks to the many care givers at Atria Care Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 2, 2012, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held 10:30-11:40 a.m. prior to services.
