His life's mission completed, Seth Neil Banner, heeded his call home and passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017. Seth was born to Leo Elgin Banner and Bertha Chloey Silcock April 2, 1935 in Burley, Idaho. He was the youngest of nine children. Seth graduated high school before meeting and marrying his sweetheart of 61 years, Patricia (Patty Ann). They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple, July 18, 1956. Seth and Patricia made their home and raised their family in Salt Lake City, Utah. Seth loved life and enjoyed many adventures through which he created unforgettable memories for those who were privileged to be along for the ride. There were no strangers in his life for he made a friend where ever he went. Seth loved the gospel of Jesus Christ. He found great joy in following his Savior by performing countless acts of service. He faithfully served in many callings within the LDS church. He also loved the temple and had the joy of serving with his sweetheart Pat in the Jordan River Temple for more than 18 years. Seth also loved and found immense joy in his eternal family and is beloved by them. He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Hall Banner; children, Charlotte (Jerry) Davis, Neil (Anntette) Banner, Annette (Lamont) Summers, Rochelle (Brent) Beck, Leann (Carl) Ahlberg, Sheila (Todd) Carton. He was an amazing and beloved grandpa to 31 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. Seth battled Alzheimer's and with gratefulness in our hearts, we thank those at the Traditions Care Center and the Beehive Home in West Jordan who lovingly watched over and cared for dad and affectionately called him "Papa" the last two and a half years. Special thanks to our Hospice nurse Curtis; your love, influence and tender care of dad has been a great comfort and strength. Thank you all. Last but not the least of which we thank Patricia Ann Hall, our devoted and faithful mother, who tenderly spent every day with him. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 6, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Taylorsville Gardens 1st Ward, 4252 Bennion Road. Viewings will be held Thursday, October 5th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and again prior to services at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Taylorsville City Cemetery.
