Sherri Day Army Wife Sherri Anne Kurtz Day, 53, of West Jordan, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 after battling brain cancer for four years. She was born in Seattle on March 18, 1960 to loving parents, Richard and Anne Kurtz. Sherri attended Brigham Young University Provo and Hawaii to study Psychology and received her teaching certificate from Utah State University. Sherri and her husband Kyle were married May 16, 1983 in the Seattle Washington LDS Temple and they had six wonderful, beautiful children. Her love for serving and nurturing her family was limitless. She was always the biggest support system for all of her children and her husband in anything they did. Her family was her number one priority. Outside of her family, Sherri was able to touch and improve the lives of many children as a special education teacher. She had a special love and connection with children with disabilities, and was able to help them along their roads of education. She was admired and loved by her students and coworkers. Sherri was preceded in passing by her father, Richard Paul Kurtz. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Kyle Day; her supportive, beautiful mother, Anne Kurtz; her brothers, Eric and Martin and their families; her six children, Josh, Joel (Lisa), Jordan, Madison, Jacob, and Jarod; and her granddaughter, Kathryn Anne. Sherri will be loved, missed and cherished by all who knew her. We love you, Mom. Funeral services will begin Friday, July 19, 2013, 11AM at the Jordan Oaks Stake Center, 8117 South Leslie Dr. in West Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be held Thursday, 7- 8:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Bluffdale, Utah.
