Shirley Francis Simmons Lujan, age 82, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 in the comfort of her home, encircled by her loved ones and warmed by their embraces. She is now joined with the love of her life, husband, Fred Lujan; mother, Kathleen; and sisters, Gladys, Kathleen and Jeanie; in heaven. From her birth in Evansburg, Alberta, Canada on July 24, 1936 to the time of her passing, she nourished the people around her with her wisdom, strength, love, and humor. Shirley prided herself on her job as a baggage handler and customer service representative with Greyhound Lines, Inc. for many years, and displayed a wonderful knack for understanding and learning about others. She enjoyed the simple pleasures that life had to offer, such as spending time with friends and family, watching Days of Our Lives, and offering words of wisdom to her loved ones. She was always there to lend an ear, and had an uncanny ability to instill confidence in others and offer her good-natured guidance. Shirley's family was her greatest accomplishment. She never missed an opportunity to sing their praises and express her affections to them. She will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Patricia "Bunny" Fuller, Linda Fuller, Steve (Darchelle) Monfredi, and Shirley "Sam" Monfredi; her 2 brothers; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter. At the request of Shirley, there will be no funeral services. In the near future, a celebration of life gathering will be hosted at her residence.
