Shirley Jean Cooper Eiden, the youngest daughter of Guy Melville Cooper and Edith Leontina Shirley c. 1951 Jonsson, left us on January 23, 2018. She was spunky, sarcastic, funny and the anchor of our family. The last few years of her life were difficult as she dealt with the cruelty of Alzheimer's. No matter how much memory she lost, however, her sense of humor was ever-present. She leaves behind six grieving children who loved her very much. Peter (Becky), Leslie (Dan), Carolyn (Gene), Daniel (Sheila), Elizabeth and Patrick learned many valuable life lessons from the way she conducted her life. Honest, hard-working and humble, Shirley put her children first and sacrificed much. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mother loved her dogs and Buster, her latest, will miss her generosity at every meal since every other bite was for him. She was the last surviving sibling, which must have been very lonely at times. She rejoins her parents; her siblings; her former husband Peter Eiden Sr.; and her son Russ. A lot of laughter in Heaven now that the gang's back together since Shirley came to town. An extra dose of gratitude goes to our brother Patrick for taking exceptional care of Mother in her final years. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2840 South 9000 West, Magna, Utah, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Luncheon to be served after. Rest in peace, little Mother. Place of Birth:Salt Lake City, UtahPlace of Death:West Valley City, Utah
