Shirley June Baker Gerrard Olsen

Our sweet mother passed away on March 10 at the age of 86. She was born in Inglewood, CA to Milton and Lora Baker. She served in the Great Lakes Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she met our dad, Samuel Richard Gerrard, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple May 22, 1953. They had 44 wonderful years together raising their five children and serving in the Church before dad passed away in 1997. She continued in her life spreading kindness and joy to all who crossed her path. Three years later, she met and married Boyd Olsen. They enjoyed 14 years of companionship together before he passed away in 2014. Shirley is survived by her children: Marie (Bruce) McRae, Pamela (Greg) Nordgren, Lora (Mike) Lee, David (Missy) Gerrard; 18 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and son, Scott Gerrard. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where viewings will be held Friday, March 18, 6-8:00 p.m., and prior to services on Saturday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Taylorsville City Cemetery.
