Shirley Marie Norris Francis

Shirley Francis 1927 ~ 2011 Shirley Marie Norris Francis, 84, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully December 22, 2011, to join her family on the other side just in time for Christmas. Shirley was born March 20, 1927 to John L. and Leora Marie Gould Norris. She attended local area schools and graduated from South High. On January 1, 1948 she married Warren C. Francis. She was a wonderful homemaker, cook and had a green thumb. She loved to travel, play Bingo and was an avid supporter of the arts. Quick family vacations were spent at the Utah Shakespearean Festival. She loved attending the Hale Centre Theatre where there s a brick inscribed with her name. Her family meant everything to her. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (George) Doty; son, Steven W. (Linda) Francis; grandchildren: Kelly (Gary) Nelson, Dolly, Sara and Ryan (Patricia) Doty, Wesley, Jon and Tex Francis; and great-grandchildren. She joins her parents; sister, Mary Jean Johnson; husband, Warren; daughter, Nancy Francis, who preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
