Sims D. Duggins "Beloved Father and Papa" Our loving and beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Sims Dennis Duggins, 78, passed away late Friday night, December 20, 2013 in Murray, Utah. He was born September 13, 1935 in Chicago, IL to Dr. Sims E. and Eunice E. Duggins. He grew up in Castle Dale and Panguitch, UT where he had many good friends who became lifelong friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cars, trains, military history, astronomy and riding his motorcycle. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including Elders Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, Stake Clerk and Ward Membership Clerk. Sims graduated from Panguitch High School, class of 53, and served in the US Army from 1957-63. He graduated from the University of Utah, class of 72, with a degree in Electrical Engineering and was employed by Hercules and Utah Power and Light for many years. He married his sweetheart in El Paso, TX and later the marriage was solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They celebrated 53 years together living in Granger and Taylorsville and were blessed with three children. Despite physical trials, endured for many years, Sims remained diligent and faithful to his testimony of the Savior and the gospel and provided service to others to the best of his ability as his health would allow. Survived by his "Chick", Sharon "Sharrie" Johnson Duggins; son Sims E. Duggins (Judlein Williams), Fort Collins, CO; daughter Sharon E. (Phillip) Fowler, Santa Clarita, CA; daughter-in-law Jill Kenyon Duggins, Tunbridge, VT; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters Sharlene Lee, West Valley City; Blanche Linford, Las Vegas, NV. Preceded in death by sister Marilyne Elaine; parents; brother Rodney Edward; and son Joel Edward Duggins. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 27, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Valley Park 6th Ward, 5233 S. 3200 W. Viewings will be held Thursday, December 26, 2013, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
