Sophia Wallace Blanchard Warner Together Again Sophia Wallace Blanchard Warner, 86, died June 14 , 2012, at home in her sleep. Born June 10, 1926 in Corona New Mexico to Francis Lincoln Blanchard and Ora Harden Wallace. She was the valedictorian at her high school, and earned a B.S. in Chemistry from New Mexico A&M. Married Leslie Lawrence Warner August 11, 1946 in Roswell, New Mexico; solemnized in Mesa, Arizona Temple, February 1962. She was a devoted Mother and wife, working side by side with her husband to raise and support their family. Sophia was resourceful and frugal, intelligent, and a lover of books and good music. Converts to the LDS faith while living in Rhode Island, Sophia and Leslie moved to Socorro, New Mexico, where Sophia started a Primary for the tiny branch. After sending 7 children on missions, she served a mission to Australia with her husband from 1992 ~ 1994. Survived by children Philip, Gilbert (Heather), Stephen (Charlyn), David (Dawn), Kenneth (Sharon), Glenn (Susan), Janet (Matt), Diana, 39 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 18, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Hunter 1st Ward, 3930 South 6000 West. Viewing Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday, at the church 12- 12:45 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
