Stanley Clark Dye passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the home of his son in Taylorsville, Utah.
Clark was born in Firth, Idaho on August 25, 1933, the oldest of the six children of Stanley Gould Dye and Daveen Clark. Clark grew up in Firth on his parents' farm where he started school in a one-room grade school, then graduated from Firth High School. He played the sousaphone in the band and that is where he met the love of his life and eternal companion Daveen Hill.
Clark and Daveen were married and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 20, 1953. The next year they welcomed their first child and continued to grow their family to a total of nine children, six sons and three daughters. Clark worked hard all his life to provide his family with the best life possible. He started as a delivery truck driver, farmer, and auto mechanic until he finished night school to be a machinist. After moving to Utah for better career opportunities and access to medical care, he finished the main part of his career by working as a machinist for Bingham Machine Company (BIMCO) where he retired after nearly three decades.
Clark taught his children the importance of maintaining and taking care of what we have in order to help the money stretch further. He showed us his love of sports by constantly participating in whichever church ball program was currently running. He loved the family vacations, camping, hunting, and jeeping. He taught us to love one another and the importance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Clark served in many church callings including many years as a scout master, ward and stake clerk, bishopric, and his last calling was as a temple worker until he was no longer able.
Clark took on the great responsibility of caring for Daveen in her decline. The family appreciates the love and caring he showed her as well as each one of his children.
Clark is preceded in death by his wife Daveen, daughter Kathy, son Merlin, daughter-in-law Cynthia, his parents, his sisters Nola and Mary, and brother Melvin.
He is survived by his children: Michael (Barbara), Rodney (Natty), Stanley (Kathy), James, daughter-in-law Sheri, Ricky (Lisa), Cheryl (Tim) Nukala, (Larry Freed), Kristi (Troy) Bolinder, along with his sister Orean (Ron) and Brother Blaine (Alcina). Clark's posterity includes 32 grandchildren and 45-great grandchildren.
