Stanley Hiette Morrell, 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, returned to his Father in Heaven on Thursday, March 17, 2016. He left suddenly and peacefully at home with his sweet wife by his side. Stanley was born the son of Arlin Hiette and Hazel Janet Gomm Morrell on August 2, 1939, in Ogden, Utah. On July 20, 1962 he married Connie G. Wilson in the Manti LDS Temple. Stan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of his life. As a young man he served full-time in the Northern California LDS Mission. Stan was always willing to serve no matter what the calling was, and did so with great enthusiasm. He held many church callings but especially enjoyed serving as a Gospel Doctrine and Priesthood Quorum teacher, member of the stake high council, and happily served as a ward a stake Mission President where he was able to share the gospel that he cherished so much. Stan loved people! He loved any opportunity to serve his fellow men, no matter whom they were or where they came from. He never met a stranger, only a friend he had yet to meet. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, about anything. Stan was rarely found without a welcoming smile on his face and made all he came into contact with feel like the most important person he knew. Stan loved to be outdoors. He was an avid sportsman, and enjoyed many outdoor activities; especially fishing, hunting, camping and boating with his family. He took every opportunity he could to do so. One of his favorite hobbies was spending time at the Morrell family cabin which he built with his brother and other family members. He was a very successful businessman having developed many projects and enjoyed working with his clients throughout his vast career. The most important thing in Stan's life was his family immediate and extended alike. Stan's best loved and cherished experiences were those spent with his family throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his devoted wife and loving companion of 53 years, Connie G. Morrell; daughter, Susan (Randy) Nelson; sons, Alan (Rita) Morrell, and Gayln (Beth) Morrell; three previous daughters-in-law whom he loved dearly, Shelly Bingham Morrell, Jennie Oostyen Flores, and Jennifer Garrett Scovill; 17 grandchildren; six (soon to be seven) great-grandchildren; brothers, William (Carolyn) Morrell, Walter (Pat) Morrell, Paul (Janna) Morrell, Philip Morrell, John (Melissa) Morrell, Joseph Morrell, Shaun (Angie) Morrell, Thomas Morrell, and Jonathan Morrell; sister, Katherine (Joe) Craighead; brothers-in-law, Neal (Karen) Wilson, and Mark (Beverly) Wilson; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Eric) Anderton, and Janet (Layne) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Hazel Gomm, Morrell, whom he lost at age 15; father, Arlin Hiette Morrell; loving step-mother, Gwen Lauritzen Westover; father-in-law, Gayln Calvert Wilson; sweet mother-in-law, Wanda Gurney Wilson; brothers, Steven Morrell, Stevie Jones, Matthew Morrell, and Richard Morrell; and sister, Rebecca Morrell.
