STEVEN ST. CLAIR 1942 ~ 2015 Steven Glen St. Clair died of respiratory failure on December 12, 2015, at the Holladay Care Center. He was born May 18, 1942 in Tooele, Utah to Glen St. Clair and Rena Ina Higley St. Clair. He grew up in Salt Lake and graduated from South High School in 1961. Steven served as an LDS Missionary in the West Spanish American Mission from June 1962 to January 1965. Shortly after his return home he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Korea. After his time in Korea he returned to the States for further military service, and while on leave in 1967 was injured in a motorcycle accident. He spent 9 months in rehab and the remainder of his life as a paraplegic. Because of the seriousness of his injuries and the nature of paralysis, the doctors at that time told him he wouldn't live past forty. He clung tenaciously to life, having survived heart and kidney problems as well as bouts of pneumonia and sepsis. He enjoyed photography, electronics and computers. Steven is survived by his siblings: John St. Clair (Linda), Ann Huefner (Carl), Karla Peery (James), Myrla Giles (Rick), and brother-in-law Kent Plott. Preceded in death by parents; sisters: Becky Lou St. Clair and Connie Jean St. Clair Plott. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 16 , 2015 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where a short viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m. prior to the Memorial service.
