Steven Garn Rasmussen

Steven passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, with presence and comfort of family and dedicated caregivers.

Steven was born in Fairview, Utah to Winnie Nelson and Francis Rasmussen on October 15, 1944; their ninth and last child. Steven graduated from North Sanpete High School and went on to earn an Associates Degree from Snow College. He completed a Bachelor of Education Degree at Utah State University and went on to teach Art and English at Hillcrest Junior High School for several years.

Steven chose to enlist in the US Army and served in Vietnam. First in the Artillery Unit, then as a Classroom Training Officer (noncom). Following Vietnam, he eventually returned to teaching at Hillcrest Junior High School. During this period, he completed a Master of Education Degree from the University of Utah. Steven then retired from teaching. Steven also returned to the LDS Church and became a devoted member. He took pleasure in studying the teachings and history. He gladly responded to calls to service.

Steven is survived by two sisters, Helen Unger and Kathlene Warner; and two brothers, Bert, and Paul; and step-daughter, Christine Dykes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Adeal Holbrook; three brothers, Jerrold, Richard, and Nelson.

Private burial at Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park Bluffdale.
