Susan Sorenson

Susan Willardson Sorenson, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away on January 18, 2025 in Riverton, Utah at the age of 88. Born in Redmond to Peter and Idella Willardson on November 15, 1936.

Susan married her forever sweetheart, Vernon Sorenson on May 27, 1955. They moved to Salt Lake City and established their home. Susan was a dedicated homemaker and made her home a place of peace on earth.

Susan was a devoted and loving Mother to her three daughters, Teresa, Michelle, and Bonnie. She adored her grandchildren, Emilie, Shawn, Annette, Kristen, Megan, Ally, Hannah and Abbie. She found great happiness in her great grandchildren, Branden, Anthony, Preston, Jackson, Brooke, Hailie, Parker, Chloe, Connor, Olivia, Kaynon, Naomi, Anna, Maggie and Cayde. Her greatest joy and blessing were her family.

Susan was a faithful disciple of Christ who served in Relief Society, Young Women's, and Primary. She was a dedicated visiting teacher who deeply cared for the sisters she visited. She served for 3 ½ years in the Jordan River Temple with her husband Vernon. This was a very choice experience for them to serve together.

Susan studied the Gospel of Jesus Christ every day. The scriptures were a vital part of her daily routine and her testimony was a bright light to all who knew her. She was always excited for the next year of Come Follow Me and acquiring books to enhance her study for that year. Daily Prayer was a power in her life that she relied upon to guide and direct her paths. Her greatest desire in life was to follow her Savior, Jesus Christ and pattern her life after Him.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Idella Willardson, and her siblings; Madge (Dell) Green, Arnold (Helen) Willardson, Richard (Kay) Willardson, Irene (Roberto)Armijo, Betty (Lynn) Kane, Paul (Loretta) Willardson, and Joan Willardson.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon Sorenson, daughters, Teresa (Steve) Thomas, Michelle (David) Roylance, Bonnie (Shane) Herman. Susan leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Redmond City Cemetery.
