Susanne Park Saxton, age 84, passed away on August 19, 2024. She was born on February 7, 1940, in Tooele, Utah. She is delighted to finally be reunited with her husband, Freeman Thale Saxton, who left this life in 2016. She is also enjoying a happy reunion with her father and mother, Ellis and Ruth Park. Her greatest desire as a young girl was to be a wife and mother when she grew up. This desire came true, and not only was she a wife and mother, but one that exemplified service and unconditional love. Susanne leaves behind four children Shelley (Jerry) Rampton, Gary (Shelly) Saxton, Annalee (Chris) Munsey, and Daniel (Shauna) Saxton. She has 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Her only sister, Julie Kroff, also survives her.
Susanne Park married Thale in the Salt Lake Temple on July 3, 1959. She graduated from Tooele High School and attended Brigham Young University. After raising a family, Susanne worked as a records control manager at BSD Medical. She was a faithful and enthusiastic member of the LDS church, having served a mission with her husband in the Canada Toronto East Mission and being the first mother of the Bridgeside Ward in Taylorsville. Susanne was a member of the Taylorsville 1st Ward for 54 years and faithfully served in various callings in the Relief Society, Young Women's, and Primary organizations. As a member of the Activities Committee, she helped plan a reenactment of the Savior's birth, life and mission called Back to Bethlehem.
She loved life, her family, and her dear friends. She was an incredible cook and treasured family gatherings while enjoying wonderful meals. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, camping in their motor home, and going on cruises. She loved studying U.S. history and the Constitution. She loved music and was a regular patron of Hale Theatre. Her passion was preserving photographs and histories of her ancestors. The most significant possessions she left her children were her life history and her testimony of Jesus Christ.
