Talmage Christensen, 78, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away February 9, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born September 21, 1935 in Wales, Utah, son of William Davis and Ida Jones Christensen, one of eight children. Graduated from South High School. He served in the US Marine Corp 1954-57. Employed in field maintenance, as a manager, at the Salt Lake City Airport for many years before going into business for himself (Tc Pest Control), up until his illness in 2003. During the years prior to his illness, he enjoyed life, fishing and taking trips to Southern Utah with his wife, Susan, and hoped one day to move to Escalante, Utah. Survived by sons, Ricky and Dale Himmer; daughter, Theresa; special daughters, Ann Curtis and Deena Ely; special son, Mark Detton; brother, Clark J. (Paula) Christensen, St. George; sister, Maxine "Chris" Henningsen, Mesa, AZ; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susan; brothers, David, Ricky, Terry and Preston "Shine"; and sister, Leah Wolford. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Arlington Hills Rehab and Care Center, especially Nick, and most recently, his hospice staff, for the wonderful care and consideration given to Talmage over the past 10 years. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 14, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at the Wales Cemetery, Wales, Utah, Sanpete County. A viewing will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
