Thelma Dixon Wendrich

Thelma Dixon Wendrich, 100, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away August 18, 2019 at the Beehive home in West Jordan being well loved by her children and grandchildren.

Born October 15, 1918 in Sterling, Utah, the second child of four, the daughter of Wilfred and Minnie Margarette Miller Dixon.

July 11, 1940 she married Raymond Lucas Wendrich in Farmington, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized November 8, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Thelma loved sewing, cooking, ceramics, crocheting, and camping. She made many strawberry shortcake dolls, and loved to spend time doing ceramics with her sister. Thelma loved spending time with her grandchildren and they enjoyed having sleepovers at her home. She worked many years at Christensen Diamond Products sorting diamonds and spent countless hours serving with her husband in church assignments. She especially enjoyed serving the youth and primary.

Survived by her children: Richard Ray (Sharon) Wendrich, Sandra Lee (Dean) Whitworth and Tamara Lynn (Robert) Beauchamp; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings; and her loving grandson.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and CNA’s with Tender Care Hospice: Veronica, Debbie, Ruth & Karley. Thanks to Beehive Homes and all their staff for their tender care.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, 5233 S. 3200 W., Taylorsville, Utah. Viewings will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, and again prior to services at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
