On the 30th of October, 2016, Joyce let out a whoop' of joy as she embraced her eternal companion, her parents, two brothers and two infant grandchildren in heaven! Theo Joyce Stevens was born in Emmett, Idaho on the 17th day of June, 1931, to Murland Thomas and Theo Elizabeth (Peckham) Stevens. With an older brother and a younger brother, Joyce learned to tease, wrestle, laugh, play sports, work hard on the farm and to love her family, animals and the outdoors. She also learned to drive on the farm and never received a citation in her life of which she was very proud of. Joyce spoke of being very blessed to have loved and married two wonderful men in her lifetime. Her first love, Arthur Edward Marsigli gave her three children and her favorite calling as wife, homemaker and mother. She was a devoted mother and strived to teach her children to be honest, thrifty and to work hard for the things that were worth obtaining in life. Art passed away on May 2, 1963 leaving her to raise three small children alone. On January 5, 1966 Joyce married Sherrel Ray Heaps, her soulmate and salvation. They were inseparable and enjoyed traveling, riding horses, camping, fishing and many long car rides together just talking. Ray passed away on August 7, 1992 after 26 years of marriage. They were later sealed in the Jordan River Temple. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Robert (Virginia) and Tommy Stevens; two infant granddaughters Kacie Marsigli and Jenni Reid; and two step-sons, Sherrel Ray Heaps Jr. and Wendell Mark Heaps. Joyce will be greatly missed by her three children, Rico (Janeen) Marsigli, Theo Lorraine (Brad) Brown and Dina (Randy) Reid; 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; step-daughters Sandra Hendersen and Leslie Holmes; sister-in- law Norma Stevens; nieces and nephews. We express deep gratitude to Joyce's friends and neighbors, ward members and her caregivers during her final days. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 5th, 11:00 a.m., at Valley Park Third Ward, 2603 W. 4700 S., Taylorsville, UT, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 10:00-10:45. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville at 3:00 p.m. With a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes, mischief was afoot. We love you.
