Theodore “Ted” Salvador Cruz, age of 76, passed in peace on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ted was born in Crested Butte, Colorado on October 26, 1942 to Marguerite and Casie Cruz. Ted grew up in Ogden, Utah, but his mother passed away when he was young. Ted then spent time with Uncle Joe and Aunt Jennie Cruz in Sunnyvale, California. He then returned to Ogden when Casie married his step mother Helen.
Ted served in the U.S. Navy at Point Magu Naval Base, California for many years.
Ted had a long time career with the Federal Reserve Bank in Salt Lake City, Utah until his retirement in 2003.
Ted is survived by his wife, Tam Cruz; his sisters, Diane, Kathy, and Elaine; his children, Mark, Leon, Terry, Thomas, Brenda, Shanna and William; step children, Thuy, Thuc, Thi; and many grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Sammy and Richard; and children, Tammy and Travis.
Ted truly lived life to the fullest enjoying the outdoors, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He also had a true passion for cars for which he had many.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A time of gathering will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00PM, Thursday March 21, 2019 at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, Utah.
