THOMAS GORDON OSBORNE 1927 ~ 2012 Our beloved sweetheart and father, Thomas Gordon Osborne returned to the arms of his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 after a long struggle with many health issues. He was born in Ogden, Utah on May 28, 1927 to Thomas Spencer and Ingelje Smit Osborne. He attended schools in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High in 1945. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War 2 in Corpus Christi, Texas, China and Oak Knoll Naval Hospital. After returning home in 1946, he graduated from Weber College, Univ. of Utah and Rennsler Polytech Institute in Troy N.Y. He was a devoted high school teacher and college professor for 38 years. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as a teacher, ward and stake clerk and many other callings. He served a three year mission at the Church Museum of History and Art with his wife Barbara. In 1989/90 they served a mission in Monroe, Michigan. He married Elaine Rouse in 1946, later divorced. On June 12, 1982 he married Barbara Hansen in Bountiful, Utah. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Jordan River Temple in November 1987. He was a kind, gentle hearted husband who loved the Lord and his family. He is survived by his wife, Barbara and children SueZanne Dalley, Peggy Woodward, Bradley Salmond, Brian Salmond, Breck Salmond, Holly Wilson and their spouses and Elese Salmond and Carol Osborne and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Earl and Frank and sisters Angelina and Edna. A viewing will be held at Mc Dougal Funeral home at 4330 S. Redwood Road on Sunday, January 29, from 6 to 8 PM. Services at the ward chapel at 4310 S. 3200 W. on Monday, January 30 at 12:00 noon with a viewing from 11:00 to 11:45 AM.
