Thurman Mackay "Farmer Mackay"

Thurman was born January 29, 1921 in Granger, Utah. He passed away March 8, 2016. He worked in maintenance for Salt Lake County and retired in 1984. He was also a farmer all of his life until 2014 when he was unable to physically work. You could always find him in his garden. He married his sweetheart, Mary Winn, April 30, 1946. They were married for 47 years until her death October 9, 1993. Thurman was a kind and gentle man. He lived in Taylorsville for 70 years in the same house. Thurman is survived by his only daughter, Beth (Mike) McBride; daughter-in-law, Mary Emma Mackay; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife Mary; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; and son Larry T. Mackay. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016, 12:00 noon, at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South.
